Our Services

Level 1

The level 1 chimney inspection is ideal for the chimneys that are regularly in use. It is considered one of the most basic levels of chimney inspection, like a regular health checkup.
Which is why there is no use of sophisticated tools.  We usually check readily accessible parts of the chimney, firebox, flue, damper, and chimney cap. We will also look for the soot and creosote levels and some surface-level observations. The routine checkup helps us catch early signs of wear before they turn into serious problems.

Level 2

Level 2 chimney inspection is a more advanced version compared to level 1. This inspection is needed after a chimney fire, buying or selling a home, severe weather conditions like winds, an earthquake, or if you have switched fuel types.  We will perform everything that we performed in the Level 1 inspection. We will inspect all the accessible areas, utilize video scanning with the help of a high-resolution camera. This inspection helps us detect hidden damage inside the chimney.

Level 3

Level 3 chimney inspection is the least common chimney inspection and is only performed when there’s reason to believe that something serious happened. This level includes all the previous inspection levels.  Moreover, we may also need to remove some parts of the chimney and the surrounding structure to fully understand the damage. It is performed after a chimney fire or a previous inspection detected a hidden problem that can’t be fixed without opening parts of the chimney.

Stage 1

At this stage, creosote looks like soft black flakes. It is loose and powdery, which means it’s easy to remove. If we detect it at this stage, our certified professionals can remove it easily with the help of standard brushes.

Stage 2

In the second stage, the creosote becomes thicker and harder. This usually happens due to poor chimney ventilation, when it’s not getting hot enough or drafting properly.  To remove Stage 2 creosote, we use rotary tools, and we highly recommend addressing it at this stage, as it can quickly progress to the most dangerous level.

Stage 3

The third stage of creosote is extremely dangerous. Because at this point it becomes thick and hard, it looks like a highly concentrated material that can easily catch fire. Stage 3 typically happens due to the frequent burning of wet wood and long-term neglect. This is an alarming stage because it can lead to a devastating house fire.

Wood-burning fireplaces

If you’re using a traditional wood burning fireplace, we recommend scheduling a St. Louis chimney sweep at least once a year. You can also plan a cleaning after every 50–70 fires. Wood burning is one of the main causes of creosote buildup, and if it’s not removed in time, it can become a serious fire hazard.

Gas Fireplaces

Gas fireplaces don’t create soot or creosote. However, it doesn’t mean that you can skip cleaning. We have observed that blockages, moisture buildup are very common there. That’s why an annual inspection and cleaning is strongly recommended.

Pellet Stoves

A pellet stove is an efficient option, but it still needs cleaning. A good way is to schedule a sweeping after burning 1-2 tons of pellets. It is very common for pellet particles to get stuck in the chimney, which affects performance and leads to clogs. That’s why a chimney sweep is important to help your stove run efficiently.

Tuckpointing

Mortar joints between bricks are exposed to harsh weather conditions. Over time, it decays, and when this happens, moisture and water seep in, which is the leading cause of brick decay, molds, and water leakage inside your house.  If this happens to your chimney structure, then don’t worry, our experts will carefully remove damaged mortar and repoint it with fresh material.

Brick Replacement

A cracked brick not only makes your chimney look bad, but it is also an indication that moisture is doing its work. We will replace damaged bricks with matching materials. This will maintain the strength of your chimney as well as preserve its looks.

Chimney Leak Repairs

Meet the number one enemy of your chimney, and it is none other than water. Water leaks can cause severe damage to the chimney, and they can originate from anywhere, from crown flashing to chase cover and flue liner.
It is also very common through mortar joints. We will identify the exact source of the leak and repair it, and suggest whether any other protective upgrades are needed.

Damper Repairs

Your chimney damper is a crucial part of the system. It regulates ventilation in a way that when your fireplace is not in use, it keeps the warm air inside.  If it’s somehow damaged and broken, this may lead to poor ventilation, energy loss, and unwanted drafts. We will repair and replace it if needed, with some of the best dampers available in town.

Flue Liner Damage

Flue liner is a protective inner layer of your chimney. It’s very important, and its job is to safely direct smoke and gases out of your house; it also prevents fire from spreading. If it’s damaged, it may lead to a serious fire hazard.  Our experts will reline the chimney with a new material and make repairs if the damage is minor and localized.

Chimney Flue Liner Installation

Nowadays, it’s essential to install the chimney flue liner, especially for those houses that were built before 1940, when flue liners were usually not installed inside. But Today it’s essential to keep the flue liner; without it, heat, smoke, and toxic gases can leak into your home. Apart from that, some chimneys are built with clay tile liners, which are susceptible to cracking and deterioration. Lastly, if you are switching to gas or installing a new insert, or upgrading your existing system. That’s where you need to install a flue liner.  We offer different liner options to our customers, including stainless steel liners, cast-in-place liners, and clay tile repairs.

Chimney Cap Installation

A chimney cap is essential and we will recommend that you install one if you haven’t it till now. It is super efficient when it comes to protecting your chimney from outside elements. We offer different types of chimney caps, including stainless steel, copper. All these caps are available in different shapes and finishes. The cap is a smart upgrade to your chimney. It will extend the life of your chimney and help prevent expensive repairs. Let our professionals handle the installation and ensure that every cap is secured to withstand storms and wind.

Chimney Chase Cover Installation

If you have a prefab chimney, there are high possibility that it lacks the chimney chase cover. This is extremely helpful in moisture and provides long-term durability to the chimney. It is not very well known like a chimney cap, but it’s just as important. It is a metallic cover that seals off the top of your chimney chase. We usually offer two options: a stainless steel chase cover, which is extremely durable, and powder-coated covers, which is rust-resistant. Whether you’re replacing a damaged cover or upgrading to something more durable, we can help you find the right solution for your home.

Chimney Damper Installation

Installing a chimney damper is one of the most cost-effective upgrades. It controls the airflow through the chimney even when your fireplace is not in use. We specialize in installing the top sealing chimney dampers.
We install the dampers at the top of your chimney flue, not just after the firebox. Our installed dampers provide a much tighter seal compared to the old-style throat dampers. We make sure that it will operate with a stainless steel pull chain, which is easily accessible from inside your fireplace.
If you still have old-style throat dampers, then you now have a very good chance to replace them with the modern ones. It is in our observations that old-style dampers are not energy efficient, don’t seal airtight, and tend to rust and wrap.
